We are a collective of people who want to work differently.

Our story began in 2015 with a vision to provide stay-at-home parents, primarily mothers with a different way of working.

Since having my first child, I tried working initially part-time and then as a contractor. I found the struggle to balance it all a challenge and at times overwhelming. I really wanted to work and I really loved being a mum, but I didn’t want to have to give up my career ambitions.

I had a good relationship with my employer but still felt like I was letting people down. I could never make up all my hours, the work got done, but it felt like I had this ledger of time owing that I could never hope to make up.

I finally pitched to my boss the idea of working for a fixed price for outputs not hours, on a project basis. The idea was a sucess, with the client happy and me feeling more in control of my worklife.

I was working on challenging and interesting projects, alongside being a mum. I was able to manage my work volume to match what was happening in my home life. There were a few road bumps along the way as I got my systems sorted, but it felt like I was doing it on my terms.

I teamed up with Amy to work on a range of projects while refining business processes and developing my skills in the industry. Friends and collegues caught on to the idea and wanted to work in a similar way so Part Time Professionals was born.

The business aims to reduce the career consequences of having children by creating a way for women to work on their careers while raising children.

Today the business focuses not just on stay-at-home parents but people who want to work differently due to illness, life stage or commitments.

Part Time Professionals provides clients access to a pool of talented experienced people, who provide great service and value for money.

Yes, we do all work part-time but as a client you will never notice.
